Our History

1st West Moors Scout Group was founded between the First and Second World Wars. It was disbanded during the Second World War and was reformed in September 1960. September 2020 saw 1st West Moors Scouts celebrate it’s 60th anniversary.

Our Location

1st West Moors is located is the busy village of West Moors barely 10 miles from Brownsea Island where Scouting began in 1907. Robert Baden-Powell took a group of 20 boys to Brownsea Island for an experimental camp which grew to become the worldwide organisation that it is today.


1st West Moors Scouts is fully committed to play it’s role in the community of West Moors and beyond.
