One of the key aspects of strategic planning for any organisation is ensuring long-term sustainability. For voluntary community organisations such as Scout Groups this involves developing a realistic fundraising strategy that sets out how the organisation intends to fund future projects, events, equipment and services to meet its needs.
These range from subsidising Camps, maintaining our Scout Hut, a critical income generator, providing modern, safe and up to date equipment and paying the plethora of bills associated with running a busy non-profit and voluntary organisation. The upshot is that although we have a reserve of funds, we do need to keep raising funds to cover our multitude of costs.
So what do we do?
1st West Moors Scout Group has been involved in a wide range of fund raising initiatives carried out over the last few years with Scout Leaders, Parents and our Scouts, Cubs and Beavers fully involved in achieving fund raising targets in a safe, fun and community environment.
Charities and voluntary organisations such as the Scout Group receive funding from a range of different ways including:
Sponsored or sponsorship events.
Raffles and charity auctions.
Individual or collective fundraising events.
Local Council Grants.
The Executive Committee would welcome any assistance or advice with future fundraising initiatives to improve on what we have currently achieved and of course we thank you all for your continued support.
